WOLFALERT – Initial Notice

Clark Ave and Brooks Ave


University Police was advised by Raleigh Police that two female University students were robbed at Clark Ave and Brooks Ave at approximately 11:50 PM. The suspect was described by the victims as a black or Hispanic male with dreadlocks. The suspect, was reported to have been armed with a handgun, robbed the victims of a purse and cell phone. The victims reported that they heard a gunshot as they ran away. The suspect was reported to have fled the area in an unknown direction of travel. No injuries were reported as a result of the incident. Raleigh Police are on scene and investigating at this time. Anyone who notices suspicious activity is encouraged to report it to University Police.

The campus community is always encouraged to take the following steps to keep themselves safe:

– Assailants are more likely to target individuals walking alone, on darkened or unlit paths, or who are distracted by headphones or activities such as texting.

– Walk in groups whenever possible, especially at night.

– If you feel unsafe in any situation, trust your instinct and contact University Police immediately to report suspicious activities or crimes on campus by calling 911 or 919-515-3000
