NC State University Police has received a report of a sexual assault occurring at 2312 Greek Village Dr., Raleigh, NC 27606. A female student reported she was sexually assaulted at this residence during the early morning of December 8, 2019. The assailant is known to the survivor. University Police is still investigating this reported crime and encourage anyone with more information related to this incident to contact University Police at 919.515.3000.
The campus community is always encouraged to take the following safety steps to keep themselves safe:
-If you feel unsafe in any situation, trust your instinct and contact University Police immediately.
– Alcohol and drugs are often used by assailants to make someone vulnerable to sexual assault.
Be alert to people who pressure you or others to use a drug or consume alcohol. Drinks should not be consumed if they are not from a trusted source or have been left unattended.
– Assailants are less likely to assault individuals who are part of a group. Use the buddy system or attend social gatherings as members of a group whenever possible. Arrive together, check in with each other throughout the event and leave together.
– Be an active bystander; don’t just standby, stand up and do something. If you see someone in an uncomfortable or unsafe situation, please contact University Police.
