Crime Warning – Initial Notice

Details:

University Police has received a report of a burglary that occurred at Sullivan Hall on February 26, 2020. The victims reported that someone entered their unlocked and unoccupied room and took small amounts of cash from their desks.

There is no suspect description or direction of travel. University Police is investigating this matter.

The campus community is always encouraged to take the following steps to keep themselves safe:

– Criminals target residences where doors and windows are left unlocked or unsecured. Always lock residence doors and windows when at home and when you leave.

– Criminals may try to gain access into a residence by using force or deception. Don’t open your door for or let someone in your residence that you don’t know.

– Refer any unknown individuals attempting to enter residential facilities to University Housing for assistance.

– If you feel unsafe in any situation, trust your instinct and contact University Police immediately to report suspicious activities or crimes on campus by calling 911 or 919-515-3000.
