NCSU WolfAlert – Crime Warning

University Police has received a report of a sexual assault that occurred inside of Hudson Hall on February 25, 2020. The female survivor stated that a male subject, unknown to her, followed her into the building, then hugged, kissed, and fondled her. The suspect was described as a Hispanic male wearing a light blue shirt with a patch. The subject then left the scene in an unknown direction.

Through investigation by the NC State University Police Department, the suspect has been identified as 37-year old Roberto Alvarez Jr. Warrants have been obtained and are pending service.

The campus community is always encouraged to take the following steps to keep themselves safe:

– If you feel unsafe in any situation, trust your instinct and contact University Police immediately.
– Refer any unknown individuals attempting to enter residential facilities to University Housing for assistance.
– Be an active bystander; don’t just standby, stand up and do something. If you see someone in an uncomfortable or unsafe situation, please contact University Police.
– Report suspicious activities or crimes on campus by calling 911 or 919-515-3000.
