On January 18, 2020, at approximately 7:21 pm, the NC State University Police has received a report of an individual allegedly possessing a handgun and pointing it at another individual on campus. It was reported that a black male was standing beside a white sedan in the parking lot on Warren Carroll Dr. (between Weisiger-Brown and Wood Hall), pointing a handgun at the sedan’s passenger. The suspect eventually got into a gray sedan, and both cars drove off.
University Police immediately responded to the scene, and confirmed that no one was in danger. Neither vehicle nor any suspect or victim was located, and the Police do not believe there is a threat to campus based on extensive review of video footage. Further, no calls have been received since the report alleging a crime associated with this set of events.
